NAME 315: Numerical Analysis for Engineers

Interpolation: Polynomial interpolation, Cubic spline interpolation, B-spline interpolation. Curve fitting: Fitting linear equation, Fitting transcendental equation, Fitting polynomial equation, Multi linear regression. Solution of nonlinear equations: The Bisection method, False position method, Newton-Raphson method, Secant method. Solution of simultaneous linear equation: Guassian elimination with pivoting, Matrix inversion, LU decomposition method, Iterative methods- Jacobi iteration & Gauss-Seidel iteration. Numerical differentiation & integration: Numerical differentiation, Errors in numerical differentiation, The cubic spline method, Romber integration, Guassian quadrature. Solution of ordinary differential equation: The Taylor’s series method, Euler’s method, Runge-Kutta method.
